In the scenario of digital art or conceptual art there’s no need for a bonding to the physical work. All that would be needed is for the author to publicly declare the association. When the work is by it’s nature re-producible then the multiple versions of it floating in physical/digital space don’t change the ownership as declared via an NFT.
